Refrigerators and freezers at dozens of supermarkets across Europe failed after a cyber-attack, forcing stores to discard large quantities of food. The Delhaize supermarket chain reported 40 affected locations, concentrated in Belgium and Luxembourg, with additional incidents in Sweden, Ireland, the Netherlands, Estonia and Finland. At one Delhaize branch in Hoeilaart near Brussels, staff discarded frozen pizzas, ice cream and other items. That location estimated damage at more than €100,000.
